Our mission is to create a supportive environment where individuals can find resources, share stories, and connect with others who share similar experiences. Through articles, interviews, and community discussions, we aim to break the stigma surrounding mental health and promote a holistic approach to well-being. By integrating Christian values with cultural heritage, ForevaBlack seeks to nurture the mind and soul, offering encouragement and hope to all who visit.
About the Founder
Hello, I am Niya Graham, the founder of ForevaBlack, a platform that is dedicated to promoting positivity, mental health awareness, and self-love within the African American community. I have always had a passion to help people, but the love for that grew as I got older, and I wanted my specific focus to be on people who look like me. Through ForevaBlack, this platform helps me create a space where we can have real conversations about body image, mental wellness, faith, and other real-life conversations.
I am a 22-year-old, and I currently go to Coastal Carolina University, I major in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in mental health advocacy and a minor in communication. My plan for the future is to become a children's therapist, I am not 100% sure what age and what will be my focus in therapy... but I am sure I will figure out soon. As I stated before, I have always been passionate about mental health and being there for people. I am also passionate about my religion; it is very important to me, and I have seen it change me and others. I want to be able to share my journey with God as well, he placed us here to spread His gospel so that we may all know His love.
This blog was made out of love, in my down time I always enjoyed writing, getting my thoughts out and pretended I were talking to people; so, I decided to make it my reality, and it was also personal because I know what it feels like to not feel seen, heard, or loved. In the African American community, we all struggle with those emotions, but we're always seen as the group that should be strong 24/7 and move forward with life and that is not healthy. I'm doing this for US, you guys are so important to me, even if you're a stranger I love you and care for you.
Through ForevaBlack, I hope to create a community where we can uplift one another, break down stigmas surrounding mental health, and celebrate the beauty in every individual. My aim is to empower readers to nurture their well-being through self-care, spiritual growth, and positive affirmations.
Although I love to write and help people, in my down time I am not always serious; I love to have fun with family, travel, and simply sleep and lay around. Those things bring me enjoyment, and I love doing it often.
I hope you love this page just as much as I love you. I hope we can all engage with each other on personal levels and continue to make this a healthy space and allow it to grow. I love you all. Thank you for visiting ForevaBlack! I invite you to join this journey with me—explore the blog, follow us on social media, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you ever need advice or a listening ear.
