Hey ForevaBlack family,
It’s been a minute — I’m so glad to be back for another conversation! Today, I want to talk about the power of surrounding yourself with the right people and how leadership isn’t meant to be a solo mission.
I used to think being a leader meant doing everything on your own, but that’s not true. Honestly, running this ForevaBlack blog alone has been a challenge. Between school, my personal life, and being a senior in college, finding time to focus on the blog isn’t always easy. Thankfully, I have my mom and my first lady who help me review and edit posts. I’m praying for God to send even more people who share my passion to help this platform grow.
In my personal life, I’m blessed to be surrounded by a strong group of leaders — and what I love most is that we lead together. Good leadership requires community. Leadership thrives on collaboration, support, and shared wisdom. Even Jesus, though He was the ultimate leader, didn’t lead alone. He had His twelve disciples, empowering them to continue His work after He returned to Heaven. Similarly, Moses needed Aaron and Joshua to help carry the weight of leading the Israelites.
Another reason strong leadership requires community is accountability. Without it, power can lead to poor decisions or even corruption. A trusted circle of leaders keeps you grounded, reminds you of your mission, and protects your integrity. Real leaders don’t let each other slip.
Trying to lead alone isn’t just exhausting — it’s dangerous. It can lead to burnout, poor mental health, and even pride. If the leader holds all the knowledge and the vision, what happens when they’re gone? That’s why Jesus trained His disciples — so the mission could continue. Leadership may feel lonely, but it doesn’t have to be. Even Elijah, a powerful prophet, felt hopeless when he thought he was the only one left — until God reminded him, he wasn’t alone.
So, if you’re a leader, don’t walk alone. Build a community. Lead together. Your mission deserves it.
And remember — leadership isn’t just about running a big business or leading an organization. Leadership happens every day — in your friend group, in your community, in your family, and even in your home. Whether you’re guiding your siblings, supporting a friend, or uplifting your neighborhood, you’re leading. It all matters.
✨ Until next time, stay strong, stay blessed, and stay ForevaBlack.
