Try Again—with God this time

Life can be so humbling, my ForevaBlack family. Sometimes you never know what you will get. We tend to create all these wonderful plans, and in our minds, they are full of rainbows and happiness. But often, reality doesn’t match our expectations. The business didn’t blow up how we imagined, the relationship we wanted didn’t end well, the dreams you aspire to have seem too far gone. And know that trying with God again can be with anything, that grief, your healing journey, weight loss, that sickness. Battling anything on your own without God is not good, and it will be more work... God wants us to lay our burdens and cares on Him. In your sadness, anger, and disappointment—you’re left thinking, should I try this again? The answer is yes, but this time with God.

When starting things and pursuing our goals, we try to do everything in our own power and our own strength. God tells us in His word rely on Him rather than ourselves (Proverbs 3:5-6). God doesn’t need us to figure everything out on our own, He wants us to rely on Him. Remember how you felt when you started that business on your own and not asking God for help? It left you feeling discouraged, defeated, and drained.

We must learn to start asking God about the business we are wanting to start, the relationship we want to be in, the school we want to go to, the content we want to start... God already know our desires and interests, so why not allow Him to help us sort out our ideas and goals? Surrender those thoughts and ideas to Him, He’s the one who gave us that creativity anyway. Surrendering it to him is doing more praying before planning, listening to Him when he gives you specifics instructions, and trusting the plan even if it does not make sense to you.

For example, when I first decided to start my blog in 2021; God was never in it. I never included Him in it... and that’s sad. I never included Him, because being the hardheaded person I used to be at times... I thought I could handle all things on my own. The same God who gave me this incredible gift, I never once thought to consult Him with the plans I had for the platform He was going to bless me with. I decided to do this again in September of 2024 with God, we’re almost in our sixth month with this beautiful blog with over 700 visitors. Also, God has helped more ideas flow, and more me to write more authentically; God gives me the words to say, and I am thankful I include Him. That’s truly amazing for a small blog that just began, see how God is blessing it? I trust Him with every move, He gave me time and allowed me to rebrand it the right way.

To the beautiful soul reading this, try again with God this time! And do not get me wrong, just because you try with God again does not always mean it is still meant for you or that it will be as big as you think. Sometimes we must do it God’s way, He will bless it how He sees fit and allow your dream to bless someone else through His glory. Even if you have a business and get 20 clients each month; God allowed you to bless 20 clients every month, we must take everything as a blessing... whether big or small. Stay in His word, allow Him to speak life into you... move in faith, not in FEAR. I’m praying for all of us; try your mental health journey again, BUT with God. Try with that content again, BUT with God. Try to fix that marriage again, BUT with God. Try to start school again, BUT with God. Even if things do not end well, it is NOT the end... only the beginning of something so beautiful that God has for you. God closing the door on an idea or goal does not mean it is over, maybe He’s going to use that same exact gift with a totally different business or other bright ideas He may have. Never put God nor yourself in a box! I love you all so much! God has so much in store for all of us, but He wants us to carry out all plans and worries with Him... NOT without Him!

As I close out this post, I would like to leave some scriptures with you:

Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Isaiah 41:10 - “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Galatians 6:9 - “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
